Life experiences: a guide to self-knowledge<\/span><\/h1>\r\n

Knowledge about oneself – self-knowledge<\/a> – is desired by many and essential for those who want to overcome the mechanics of daily life and achieve the awakening of consciousness. V.M. Samael Aun Weor, in his writings, clearly sets out the importance of fundamental aspects of self-knowledge, such as willpower, comprehension, discipline and life experiences.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

” Experiences are certainly magnificent in every way. It is not possible to obtain didactic material for the development of consciousness from anywhere other than experiences. Therefore, those who shun or protest against the painful experiences of life are clearly depriving themselves of the best: they are depriving themselves precisely of the living source which can lead them to the strengthening of the life of the soul.” VM Samael Aun Weor.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Every experience of life can and should be used for self-knowledge. Regrettably, many reject, underestimate, denigrate and detest them. Nevertheless, for a serious work of self-knowledge and the elimination of defects, it is essential to use all our experiences, even those that seem insignificant..<\/span><\/p>\r\n

It is through our daily experiences that we can discover and recognise our psychological defects. They are easily observable in our relationships with people, in our relationships with our family, friends and co-workers.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Thus, the V.M. Samael Aun Weor advises us to be “alert and vigilant like the watchman in time of war” at all times, and not to identify with any event, occurrence or circumstance.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

As a result, life experiences are valuable learning material for our development and awakening. However painful they may be, we need to take advantage of them, recognise our psychological defects, work on them and eliminate them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
